Today, Saturday 31 May at 9 p.m., the violinist Maestro JANE Far and her violin will enliven the evening on the prestigious stage of the 70th Edition of the Mediterranean Fair.
Sasà Taibi
Also this year, for over ten years the artistic direction of the events of the 70th edition of the International Mediterranean Trade Fair has been entrusted to Sasà Taibi, producer of Radio Rta, media partnership of the Fair, publisher, musician and Manager. Sasà Taibi began playing and singing since his adolescence, became a radio speaker, then a journalist and disk jockey and excellently animates the evenings with class and great artistic professionalism of the people of Palermo, of the Sicilians, and today he is a manager of the Sicilian entertainment world, known for his brilliant talents and deep and very high artistic singing and managerial skills also at an international level. Last October, in collaboration with “CIAO USA TV”, the international digital platform that offers more than 100 Italian channels from all over the regions of Italy, of which Calogero Drago is the President, Joe Barone – CEO, and Rosario Drago – Artistic Director, Sasà Taibi performed, as part of the Columbus Day celebrations, at the “Ribalta” in Manhattan in New York, one of the trendiest clubs in the American capital and with his very high technical and musical vocal preparation, he made the American and Italian-American audiences present dance. His covers, appreciated all over the world, range from “90s dance music”, and include the lyrics of Ramazzotti, Sal Da Vinci, Ricchi e Poveri, and The Kolors.
Giovanna Ferrara or Jane Far
Composer, choir director, music teacher in middle schools and in music high schools, she is currently a student at the Alessandro Scarlatti Conservatory in Palermo for the achievement of the fifth degree in Music Therapy Techniques and Theories. Awarded several times in Italy and abroad, she performed in Paris at the Sorbonne University where she was awarded for the “Arts et livres” Festival 2024 organized by the Euro-Mediterranean Academy of Arts for the “Gran Prix Saint-Germain- Des- Prés 2024 for “having spread international cultural projects abroad and in the world with her music, enhancing Italy and Sicily in the world”. Expert and scholar of territorial music, musical multiculturalism, ethnomusicology, Byzantine and oriental music, Jane Far as ambassador of women of the world, President of the cultural association Brancaccio e Musica, and editor of the newspaper www.brancaccioecultura.it, participated in the 80th Columbus Day parade in New York sponsored by the Sicilian Region Regional Department and the Municipality of Palermo, where she met the highest public officials, including the Consul General of Italy and Minister Plenipotentiary to New York City Dr. Fabrizio Di Michele, and for CO.MI.TES the television director spokesperson for Made in Italy and Italian excellence in the United States Ornella Fado. She was received in New York in the magnificent “City Hall” Palace, seat of the Mayor of New York Eric Leroy Adams, and given a plaque. She performed with her composition “Palermo” in the famous street of Times Square in New York City. At the Italian Cultural Institute in New York City, she was a guest at the prestigious international award “Caruso Tribute prize” organized by Melos International President Maestro Dante Mariti, and awarded in Manhattan with the international award “The Best Awards in the World” for her commitment as Ambassador of women for: music, arts, culture, Sicilianness, legality and social commitment in the world. Her innovative music is the reflection of the multifaceted personality enriched by multi-ethnic musical training that embraces natural music and extra-European music. Her musical proposal is a mix of her diversified and broad professional musical technical path that outlines the peculiarity of her innovative and specific style, which distinguishes her and highlights a musical marriage of tones, styles, timbres, vibrations that blend in unison and that range from medieval to Middle Eastern Arabic. She has created a series of covers with her violin that still today make a dent in the hearts of many. She wrote Happiness is in you, Palermitana, and the anthem of the women of the world “Meridiem” which received the acclaim of the Vice President of the European Commission Věra Jourová.
